Wordpress themes

It could be this one, who knows ?

Rounded 1.0 is released

Rounded theme is now available on Theme.wordpress.net and soon on others sites. Thanks to shadow12 who added it in a couple of seconds.

Note that this version is really young and have to be improved on several points. As i build it on a clean version of wordpress 2.0.2 without any plugins, some div are missing in css file such as calendar, theme switcher and more. Updates will be added soon.

Ya i like it alot! Just wish you could add widget support!

weston deboer Says:

one more problem, when you view posts the corners on the left don’t show up. They show up on the main page but not when you click on posts.

almostinfamous Says:

not a jagged edge in sight.nicely done!!

i;ll prob use this after a bit of testing. love the too, btw :)

ghyslain.armand Says:

Thanks all for feedback !

Montoya -> i know this indeed, the png support in IE makes me crazy and frustated, be sure i will add a pngfix.js to display correctly the download button or other images embeded in xhtml code (img src). But I will have to add in css a Microsoft.AlphaImageLoader too in order to get corrects pngs called in css … hmm ..thx to IE, a real pleasure.

For the top left corner that disapear after cliking on post : which browser do you use ? could you send me a screenshot please ?

almostinfamous -> for me too :-) that’s why i’m anxious … i’m waiting after weston for more information.

I love this template!!! I’ve been fiddeling with it a bit to custumize it. I’m a Pivot-user, but I’m will be using WP as soon as I get the template completly to my satisfaction.

Maybe you can help me: I want the tabs in the upper right corner to be individual tabs instead of one enormous tab. But I can’t tackle the code to get it to work properly. It’s rather frustrating!!!!!

ghyslain.armand Says:

Thanks for your comment. Maybe it could help you, this is how the page tabs are made :

Each .ltab and .rtab have a background image - the left and right blue side - then list items are embed in a simple ul whis is embed itself in a pagenav list. Don’t ask me why, this is how wordpress build pages link. Hope it helps.

ps : i’ve seen your blog skinned with rounded theme, it’s really great to see it with a lot of content .. and it makes me think about the next and previous buttons that i forgot to skin.

Pike Says:

I’ll try!!! And thank you for the compliment! I’m not done: I need to get all my Lord of the rings links in there too!!! :)

Could you tell me how to get a white rule between to sentences??? Just like I hace here between the :) and ‘Could…..’. I can’t get it to work in the template. Tried it with ‘enter’, shift + enter and fiddeling in the HTML-code of a posting. But it won’t work.
In the posting: http://www.inkling.nl/mt/?p=42 there should be a white space between the poem and J.R.R. Tolkien and between J.R.R.Tolkien and the picture. But it just won’t work. Have you got any idea’s?

one more problem, when you view posts the corners on the left don’t show up. They show up on the main page but not when you click on posts.

I had the same problem, but have found the solution,
You don’t see the problem on this site because ghyslain.armand use ?p=# to call his pages, when you set in wordpress is like http://your_url/postname/
or http://your_url/archive_date/postname/ you don’t see the corners on the left. I’ve edit the template files, index.php, sidebar.php, and footer.php,
instead of using to get the images, (like ghyslain.armand did) i use /wp-content/themes/rounded/img/stl.gif”> now it works fine also when you use this “http://your_url/archive_date/postname/” style of url’s.

But beside of this I like the theme,
and I’m busy editing it. :D

ghyslain.armand Says:

Well done Weston i didn’t think about before. I should have use the < -- bloginfo('template_directory'); -->command instead. Do you think it could resolve the pb ?

werner Says:

I’m sorry for the upper two post,
It seems I can’t post php/html code to show what i meen. lets tray it like this:

ghyslain.armand Says:

hm .. indeed you can’t add php/html code, sorry. I will looking for a solution.

werner Says:

I hope in the admin panel you can see what I mean,
you have used a link to /wp-content/themes/rounded/img/stl.gif

when you use a link to

echo get_settings(’home’); ?>/wp-content/themes/rounded/img/stl.gif

it works fine

werner Says:

I have edited the themplate files of the,
Flickr Photo Album for WordPress, from http://tantannoodles.com ( http://tantannoodles.com/toolkit/photo-album/ )

So now it looks nice in the Rounded 1.0 theme,
you can see it in action at http://wernerveldman.nl/photos/ it coud be that you most use the teamswitser at the bottum of the sidebar.

any intrest in the themplate files ?

greetings Werner Veldman.

werner Says:

i’m sorry but it don’t work :S
I can’t post a img-tag of php howerver i use the code-tags :S

werner Says:

You have to delete my comment with #18 because the code tag destroys you layout ;)

ghyslain.armand Says:

whoa ! this plugin isn’t so cool, i unckeck the “correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” however

Pike Says:

Is ’rounded’ compatible with the plugin ‘lightbox’ http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox/

I can’t get it to work (or maybe I’m just being blonde……).

ghyslain.armand Says:

lol, hope you don’t ! i don’t see any reason why it could not be compatible. Try to comment the pngfix.js in your head section to see if there is a pb with.

Pike Says:

At least I got the audioplayer to work!!! But the lightbox just won’t work. I’m getting really annoyed at myself, because of that. The documentation isn’t really good either. I’ll try again tomorrow with the *piep* lightbox-plugin.

And have you got an answer to my other question (see comment numer 9)??????? I really hope you do.

werner Says:

in dutch: heb je de tag al geprobeerd dit is gewoon een enter. dus je moet hem wel twee keer toepassen. ook kan je gewoon een tag doen.

in enlisch: just try the tag and use him 2 times of tru

i hope the code wil word now !

werner Says:

code :S

use br / bewteen “”

ghyslain.armand Says:

done ! :-)

werner Says:

piki, just use this to times,

<br />

Pike Says:

I’ve tried……….and without any result. :(

ghyslain.armand Says:

try p instead of br

Pike Says:

this had to be…………:)

ghyslain.armand Says:

In the posting: http://www.inkling.nl/mt/?p=42 there should be a white space between the poem and J.R.R. Tolkien and between J.R.R.Tolkien and the picture. But it just won’t work.

As i can see there is a white space between J.R.R.Tolkien and the picture and between the poem and J.R.R. Tolkien too. I meant before just to use paragraph instead of line breaks. If you want to modify margins paragraph, try to change it in the style.css

Pike Says:

I’ll give a goal!!!!

And where can I change the ‘comments’ colour in a posting? I want to change colour when you hover over it, like the title and category. I’ve changed them all, but only the ‘comment’ link I can’t change anywhere.

Pike Says:

If you want to modify margins paragraph, try to change it in the style.css

Where in the style.css can I do that?

(I’m sorry I’ve got al these questions by the way).

ghyslain.armand Says:

And where can I change the ‘comments’ colour in a posting?
Line 250 in style.css –> #comments-post –> change color

For margin paragraph line 392 .post p –> change the first value in the margin attribute, for instance margin: 15px 10px 0 20px;

Pike Says:

Two more questions for you:

1. I want the distance between the right site of the text of the posting and the rightborder of the white block to become bigger. Like it is on the left side of the white posting block. I can’t seem te change that.

2. Same goes for the distance between a picture and the text in a posting. I’ve put in a picture in this posting: http://www.inkling.nl/mt/?p=79 and the text is really close to the picture. Is there a way to change that ?

ghyslain.armand Says:

1 - that’s the same :
line 392 .post p –> change the second value –> for instance margin: 5px 25px 0 20px;
just remember four values for “top” “right” “bottom” “left”
2 - line 372 –> #content .post p img –> add a margin-right: 20px; for instance

Pike Says:

Thank you so much!!!! All of it worked!!!

weston deboer Says:

the pages on the top don’t work in safari. Does the links widget work for anyone? i just disabled the linke widget for now. Here is a screen shot of it not working in safari:
http://flickr.com/photos/poil11/139217578/

ghyslain.armand Says:

I know that page tabs under safari are not displayed correctly, i’m sorry for that i need to work on it as soon as i can.
Actually the following widgets supported are : Archives, categories, flickr, recents comments, rss import and text block.

Pike Says:

I’ve added a box for recent comments to show up. I ised a plugin for it. Maybe an option for the next version of the theme? I left the category-options out.

http://www.inkling.nl

Pike Says:

Never mind………….I just saw you’ve got it here too. :) :(

Leigh Says:

Firstly I must say thank you so much for this theme..it is one of the best I have seen.

I know this was covered, so please forgive me. But I am still having trouble getting spaces in. I tried and etc without much luck

ghyslain.armand Says:

Leigh : i will have more time this week-end to work on theme. As i have not so many readers/users (you’re among the firsts) i’ll try to resolve your pb in the same time or help you to get what you want.

navendugoyal Says:

yup its a great theme but why to use images for rounded corners when u can have it by using javascript ann css only , ya u heard me right

check out this article

http://webdesign.html.it/articoli/leggi/528/more-nifty-corners/

ghyslain.armand Says:

hello navendugoyal, i know the niftycorners way but i choosed not to use it, that’s all :-)

Leigh Says:

Thanks you,
Have done the things you mentioned up there, and it’s not looking as messy now :)

No hurry, I love it enough to wait *g*

Pike Says:

Fiddeling for a few days now and I still love the theme!! I’ve only had a few complaints from people who read my weblog daily that they don’t see me anymore in their RSS-feeder. I don’t either in my own. Is that problem caused by the theme of Wordpress? I can’t figure it out and I was hoping you’d have an answer.

ghyslain.armand Says:

I don’t think it comes from the theme, except perhaps the rss link in the footer area that begins with feed:// instead of http://
Try to compare your xml tree before and after troubles, your permalinks structure .. don’t have any more ideas.

Pike Says:

Indeed, that did the trick! Thank you (again). :)

navendugoyal Says:

check out my blog which uses the rounded theme
thanks for such an awesome theme

ghyslain.armand Says:

Hello Cutelittleguy :-) thank for your feedback. (Sidebar widgets seem to work well, did you use this feature ?).

Pike Says:

You’ve changed some things on the layout! I like the little flower on the reply-thingie and the flowers on the bottom of the page. I like the old top better though: it’s a bit too full for me.

Irina Says:

Hi, this theme really is fantastic. This is my big launch into having my own domain, so I’ve been neurotic about fine-tuning a variety of random details (like the “next page” being almost invisible against the brown…now it’s the color of the green boxes; super cool). One problem I can’t seem to fix is centering images within the sidebar boxes…specifically, a Technorati button and a Creative Commons button. Is there a way to make the things in this one box center without making all of the other boxes do the same?

Thanks.

navendugoyal Says:

hey people i just have an idea if anybody agrees to me

why dont all of us who use rounded theme create a blogroll , wouldnt it be cool , ya a sidebar links list to everybody’s blog who uses rounded theme

anybody with me ?

http://navendug.tk

navendugoyal Says:

mr ahmed no i havent updated my theme so i am not using the widgets but i use fuzzy recent comments and posts plugins .

navendugoyal Says:

also if div support can be added to posts some how it would be nice , it is supported but usually the formatting disappears if div tag is used

ghyslain.armand Says:

Navendu : what do you mean by adding a div support to posts ? (The formatting can be changed easily, i’ll do it).

James Roe Says:

Really like your theme but (maybe) I’ve found a bug. In the comments.php file, there is a line

which appears to be extraneous? It doesn’t appear to be terminated with a . It showed up when I validated the page for XHTML.

ghyslain.armand Says:

James, could you please tell me which line appears to you extraneous ? Between, the xhtml test validation doesn’t pass yet because of the flickr badge and many errors i haven’t resolved.
